Alberto R. Gonzales - United States Attorney General

Gonzales’ latest remarks are indicative of the contempt shown by the current American administration for one of the greatest political documents and institutions of the past five hundred years.

I Am Not A Lawyer, nor an American, ergo he may be factually and legally correct. But arguing for this position is beyond the pale.

I rest my case.

  1. Hmm. Gonzalez is a strange one, conservative hawk or attorney general in the firing line? This did make up my mind: conservative hawk.

Agreed, the US constitution is a bizarre document, it actually makes rules by exclusion, not by specifically stating what is allowed. Making a constitution by exceptions is not uncommon, but it is logically fallacious.

This quote I think gave away why they want to “re-interpret” sections:

“The Constitution says you can’t take it away except in case of rebellion or invasion.”

I.E. Civil war/land invasion by sovereign state/invasion or rebellion by terrorism…ahem. Not too outlandish. Tell Gonzales to read the book “WIld Card” then we’ll chat…

  2. Gonzalez showing his colours once again, not at all suprising to see an administration pissing around with the constitution, not the first and certainly not the last.
