1. There was a ned on the bus today with extraordinarily varied (and sometimes quite good) taste in music. Normally there’s someone at the back playing Happy Hardcore or something really loud on their mobile.

This particular gentleman started off with something like that, and then embarked on a musical odyssey which took in Mellow Yellow by Donovan, I Fought The Law by the Clash, a couple of The Jam songs and finally (and it had all been going so well) I Predict A Riot by the Kaiser Chiefs.

    RE:Music from neds on buses-the ‘Electric Scarecrow’, the wandering court jester hangover from the ecstacy era that plagues Glasgow, can often be heard on the bus listening to “River Deep, Mountain High” by Ike and Tina Turner. Anytime I see his big grinning mug, he’s listening to it. Discuss…
