It's not going anywhere, and indeed it is going to increase at a rate of knots. The iPlayer is blocked internationally because the BBC can't afford to buy the rights in third party content used in it's programmes outside of the UK. And unless you have four or five billion quid a year lying round, that isn't going to change any time soon.
